Fort Wright, Kentucky (October 1, 2024) – The City of Fort Wright, KY Mayor, City Council and Staff have partnered with the North Carolina City & County Management Association (NCCCMA) to deliver much needed non-perishable items to flood ravaged North Carolina.
NCCCMA Executive Director Rob Shepherd has indicated that many cities and counties are still in response mode and assessing the magnitude of the damage and still searching for missing persons. He further indicated that many communities still do not have power or reliable communications, many roads are damaged or destroyed limiting and preventing transportation, and that there is a tremendous need for a variety of non-perishable items.
We are NOT able to accept any clothing or toy items at this time.
In response the City of Fort Wright, KY is asking for your assistance and will be collecting and transporting directly to Hurricane Helene impacted North Carolina the following items:
- Shelf-Stable Canned Foods (Pop Top Cans Preferred)
- Can Openers
- Bottled Water
- Baby & Toddler Formula and Food
- Diapers – all sizes, including Adult
- Baby Wipes
- Pacifiers
- Trash Bags
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Hand Sanitizers
- Toilet Paper
- Paper Towels
- Bleach
- Shovels
- Gloves
- Coolers
- Flashlights
- Batteries
- Adult & Children Tylenol Products
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Deodorant
- Soap
- Gatorade
- Reading Glasses
- First Aid Supplies
- Floor & Window Fans

We are hopeful that these non-perishable products help provide some sense of relief and comfort to the lives of those in need.
Fort Wright, KY First Responders are planning to deliver all donated items the weekend of October 11th, 2024 directly to a key distribution center in North Carolina.
Donations currently can only be accepted until close of business on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 at the Fort Wright Fire/EMS Dept, located at 409 Kyles Lane, Fort Wright, KY 41011 We greatly appreciate your support and thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity and civic spirit.
