Chippie’s Sensational Science Lab

Thursday, September 29th 6:30pm at the Edgewood Senior Center – Become a not-so-mad scientist, conduct mind-boggling experiments and learn about the amazing world around us! Are there young scientists in your household? Come out to the Edgewood Senior Center for Chippies Sensational Science Labs! Inspired by Chippie, BCM’s chipmunk mascot, their interactive sessions will engage and entertain kids while teaching science basics, incorporating S.T.E.M. elements and age- appropriate experiments. Limited to 30 participants and MUST BE AN EDGEWOOD RESIDENT. Pre-registration is required by calling the city building at 859-331-5910.

Touch a Truck

The City of Edgewood is excited to announce our Touch a Truck event on October 8th at Freedom Park from 12PM-2PM. Come to the park and see Firetrucks, Dump Trucks, Police Cars and demonstrations along with a Petting Zoo! We will also have a sticker hunt, food trucks and balloon animals! Bring the family and enjoy a Saturday afternoon with the City of Edgewood.

Wooden Reindeer Workshop

Join the Edgewood Garden Club to make your own Reindeer – October 15th at Adams Shelter 1-3:30pm.  Pre-registration is required and only available to the first 12 registered.  All materials, tools and instructions will be provided. Please call the city building 859-331-5910 to register.

“SPOOKY SUNDAY”

Our Annual “Spooky Sunday” celebration will be Sunday, October 16th at Presidents Park! The event is for children 12 and under and kicks off with a costume parade from St. Pius to Presidents Park meet at St. Pius at 3:45p.m. After the parade we will have a magic show, costume contest, pictures with Anna from Frozen, the haunted forest, and plenty of treats for everyone.  Many volunteers are needed for this event.  If you would like to volunteer or have a child who needs community service hours (High Schoolers, this is you!) this would be a fun event to get those hours.  Please contact the city to volunteer.

Bats

Walk like a bat! Fly like a bat! Meet a live native bat! Explore echolocation to understand how it works and hear what it sounds like. Learn about these truly amazing yet misunderstood animals through a slide presentation, game, artifacts and more. October 20th at the Senior Center at 6:pm. Must pre-register by calling 859-331-5910, this event is limited.
